    Praytell, Austin

Praytell is looking for an intern to join our creative communications agency in Austin.

We're a rapidly growing crew with offices in San Francisco, Brooklyn, Los Angeles, and Austin, with PRWeek’s Agency of the Year, Holmes Best New Agency and PRWeek’s Best Places to Work awards under our belt. We've got killer client partners, culture you can’t beat and serious momentum.

To support our rapidly growing Austin team, we’re looking to hire an intern who is available at least 3 days per week. Our ideal candidate has 1-2 years of general work experience, is a fast learner, interested in an evolving communications landscape and greets each day with a positive attitude.

Our internships are paid ($13/ hr), and include training sessions about all functions of the agency, real hands-on work experience, and mentorship from experienced PR and digital communications pros. There’s also snacks.

If it sounds like a fit, send us an email at jobs@praytellagency.com that tells us why you're the right person to join us (GIFs = bonus points). And like any good pitch, the subject line matters, big time.

Responsibilities

  • Support both our current clients and the development of new business proposals and pitches, participating in creative idea development and extensive market and social media research
  • Write social content (Tweets, Facebook posts, Instagram posts) and media pitches
  • Engage and monitor our client’s online social communities
  • Conduct social media reporting - monitoring online discussions and translating findings into recommendations for clients as well as digging into social media metrics for reporting
  • Develop quick turn Point of View research documents in support of ongoing pitches/client needs or as proactive pieces of thought leadership in the digital and social space
  • General administrative responsibilities (this doesn’t mean getting coffee, but please note that as part of our office culture, we all pitch in to help out with smaller tasks around the office)
  • Oh, and you'll occasionally be the subject of our Snapchats. You've been warned.

Qualifications

  • Must be a Junior or Senior in college or have already graduated
  • Have had 1-2 years of general work experience (including internships) and know how to operate in a business environment
  • A personality that thrives in a fast-paced culture – sometimes low-key, fun-loving start-up, sometimes a surprisingly formal and buttoned up affair
  • Strong knowledge of popular culture and obsessive attention to detail
  • Active on social media with knowledge of the primary features and uses of major social platforms, as well as enthusiastic about trying out and finding use cases for new, emerging platforms.
  • Interest in helping to develop consumer facing social media content
  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills with understanding of AP Style
  • Don't forget to tell us which of our clients you'd want to work with most in your cover letter.
  • Support both our current clients and the development of new business proposals and pitches, participating in creative idea development and extensive market and social media research
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet stated deadlines
  • Must live in or around Austin and be able to come into our office during the week

If you think you have what it takes, send us your resume and a cover letter that tells us why you're the right person to join us on this incredible journey. And like any good pitch, the subject line matters, big time.

Be sure to check us out on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Caution, it gets weird!
